This interior design project masterfully weaves contemporary design elements into the traditional Chinese courtyard house (siheyuan), while carefully preserving its distinctive architectural details and cultural essence. Through thoughtful structural analysis and reorganization, the design introduces natural light to the underground level, creating a dialogue with the double-height spaces above.
The living circulation has been optimized to incorporate multifunctional areas while maintaining the flowing spatial sequence and layered beauty inherent to the three-section courtyard layout. Inspired by the concept of the "Eight Treasures Box," the design orchestrates a progressive spatial rhythm through carefully curated materials, lighting fixtures, and artistic pieces.
As one moves deeper into the space, this rhythmic progression reveals itself gradually, imbuing the environment with profound cultural depth and human warmth. The result is a living space that honors its historical roots while embracing contemporary life—a place where tradition and innovation coexist in elegant harmony.
